We see things as they are. Simply put, there is not now, nor has there ever been a single, quantifiable, empirical phenomenon upon which to base the idea people are white. Furthermore, there is no material substance from which to derive so-called white people. White has no chemical formula, it has no molecular structure and you can not locate white anywhere in the known universe based on the cartesian coordinate system.
But there is melanin. Melanin or mweusi is the aromatic biopolymer and organic semiconductor that makes Black people black. Melanin is worth over $350 a gram more than gold at the present.
PBS produced a short film entitled “White” that has spawned an urban legend claiming “melanin thieves” are engaging in “melanin harvesting” from Black people.
In the course of the film the phrase “melanin challenged” is uttered.
We find that to be a remarkable term to describe people. Mainly because it is an obvious attempt to prevent a politically incorrect pejorative from being used: melanin retarded. Which shows a weakness on the part of melanin challenged people. They fear the use of words that are not in their favor, such as white.
The point of this post is to illustrate why we use the phrase “melanin challenged” instead of white to refer to melanin challenged people. We have no intention to be offensive or insulting. It is merely an effort to be precise. Since there is no such thing as “white,” phrases like “white supremacy,” from a rational perspective, are oxymorons. Since, white does not exist, it can In order for white to have supremacy over anything, it would have to exist. This post started with the simple facts falsifying the mere idea of white as a basis for referring to people.
As Dr. Huey P. Newton still tells us, power is the ability to define reality and to make that reality produce a result. What is remarkable about the phrase “melanin challenged” is that it was not defined by melanin privileged or melanin rich people. Yet it still has the ability to produce a result in favor of people of melanin.
By no longer referring to the mythical “white,” which has never existed, melanin rich people focus on themselves. What has calling melanin challenged people “white” done for the melanin rich since Johann Blumenbach first used it to define people from Europe? Nothing!!! If it had Trayvon Martin, Emmett Till, and the 145 Black Women who were lynched in America might have lived for a longer period than they had.
